The Paramount Theatre

"Passages at the Paramount"

Rutland, VT

The Paramount Theatre is dedicated to preserving Rutland's rich architectural history and to enhancing the greater Rutland region artistically, economically, socially and intellectually.  Envisioned as Southern Vermont's premier regional performing arts center, programming at the Paramount is culturally and artistically diverse.  The Paramount seeks to engage local residents and visitors to the region, of all ages and varied arts interests, with entertainment experiences that cross performing arts genres.

The "Passages at the Paramount" series, now in its second season, offers the audience the exciting opportunity to experience the astonishing talent of young artists on the cusp of breakout careers.  Indeed, two artists played the Paramount a week before their respective debuts at New York's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

In addition, prior to their appearances at the Paramount Theatre, the performers provide master classes for Rutland County high school students.  A master class conducted by a young classical artist who has emerged at the top of their field provides an exceptional opportunity for the students to be exposed to and coached by internationally heralded classical musicians.
